This group of three Northern Pintails was judged Best in World in the World Shootin’ Rig class at the 2018 Ward World Championship.  The Pintail species has never won this category since it’s inception over 20 years ago.  Several years ago this category was named the Jimmie Vizier Memorial Award in honor of this highly respected and legendary carver.  Jimmie is Pat Godin’s father-in-law and his love of the pintail inspired Pat to carve them for the 2018 competition.  As part of the benefit of winning this award these pintails are on display at the Ward Museum of Wildfowl Art until the spring of 2019.
